Vietnam ~ Part Two

It seems I am not very good at regular blogging lately. A little tardy to say the least. Tonight I have started the task of putting our holiday photos into an album (something I still love to do in this day and age of technology) and I thought it was about time I posted some more.
When travelling I love to take photos of ordinary things, gorgeous flowers, an abandoned alley or bright fruit piled high (I took lots of these).  I also love looking back at the streetscapes from one city to the next to see the differences, and there were a lot unique to each city. From Hanoi to Hoi An and then on to Ho Chi Minh. Here are some of my favourites. You can see my daughter on her Dad's shoulders in a few... it's how she spent most of the holiday when she wasn't in the pool.

From the craziness of the traffic in Hanoi, to the serenity in Hoi An and then the manicured gardens and marbled buildings in Ho Chi Minh. I loved it all. What I really admired were the manicured gardens. The Vietnamese sure do love their hedges, which I do too. Ahhh after my own heart. Hence I have since taken to my garden with the shears for a tidy up (actually my Dad did most of it, but I helped with the rosemary and box hedges). Not quite as exquisite as we saw in Vietnam, but getting there.

Old school

Where has November gone?!... I know we still have a few weeks left, but I can't believe that it is the 20th tomorrow, my Dad's birthday. Only a few weeks ago I was gearing up for my birthday. I can't believe how much time and emotion was invested in getting one year older, but now it has passed I realise that it was no big deal, and after all you are only as old as you feel right?
We have just spent a weekend away on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. Stunning! We travelled for a wedding which was just gorgeous, and had a brief stop over in Melbourne which I always love. Back home now and tomorrow is my day off when I'll finally be able to take my new girl for a spin. She's just stunning... don't you agree? Happy days.

Pretty things

I was just looking at some photos of my Garden from only a month ago, and how things change so quickly. This afternoon I hope to get stuck into pruning my roses, buddleias and chrysanthemums and if I get time hedge my box hedges that are underneath my roses. Everything is looking a little sad, so that might just neaten things up a bit. I think I just saw a glimpse of sun out of the window, so now might be the time. Hope you are having a wonderful week.

Voyager Estate Garden

Just going through some photos from our family trip to Perth, WA in October of last year. The garden at Voyager Estate Winery was immaculate. I think I need to get myself a hedge trimmer.

Daylesford ~ Part Three

If you love beautiful gardens I recommend you visit Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm, only a short drive from Daylesford. Great too if you are travelling with a family. The kids will love the space, friendly animals and the Lavender icecream! We had a wonderful time just meandering through the gardens, getting lost in the lavender, watching geese by the water, sipping lattes at La Trattoria, admiring the gorgeous buildings, summer flowers and incredible veggie garden. Simply beautiful!

Spring and love

Spring and love were in the air this weekend. Time in my garden and a celebration.

A glance
Sweet kiss
A touch
Anticipation
Stomach a-flutter
Aching to hold
Eyes smile
A hand forever

Waiting in Anticipation

I have recently cut back my garden to prepare it for the new growth in a few weeks, so for the moment it doesn't have a lot of colour. I'm not a fan of the empty gaps and always feel like I should fill them with little plants, but as soon as spring comes, it doesn't take long to bloom.  I am waiting in anticipation of my spring bulbs flowering and the new growth to begin again.
