Fabulous feature

I just love this black feature wall in vintage boutique Brass Razoo in Idaho. It's not just the colour but the vintage frames that win it for me. I LOVE the blue sofas too!

J'adore... mirrors

There is something about the grouping together of vintage mirrors that makes me squeal with delight. I am trying to recreate this in my lounge room. I have found some gorgeous ones with my name on them in vintage shops in the hills, but they are so hard to hang... it's a slight hiccup, but we'll get there. In the meantime I love admiring others.

Waiting in Anticipation

I have recently cut back my garden to prepare it for the new growth in a few weeks, so for the moment it doesn't have a lot of colour. I'm not a fan of the empty gaps and always feel like I should fill them with little plants, but as soon as spring comes, it doesn't take long to bloom.  I am waiting in anticipation of my spring bulbs flowering and the new growth to begin again.

Beautiful Fresh Print

If I've had a stressful day, coming home to this print and a warm cup of green tea would make me happy. (After a cuddle from my two precious people of course).

Vintage Glassware

I started to move furniture around in my freshly painted lounge room today and put the curtains back up, only to realise that the new paint colour now makes my curtains look dirty! I may need to give the pelmet a coat of a darker colour to correct the perception . I'm enjoying playing around with different bits and pieces. I put up a different print on the mantle with my two pieces of vintage glass I received for Christmas, but I now need another colour to add to the mix. Loving the yellow and green shades. May need to go shopping for the trifecta this week.

Busy weekend

This weekend was the first in a long time that my husband had had off from work and so I was able to stop talking about painting the lounge room and actually do it! It doesn't probably sound like the most relaxing weekend, but we had fun and what a transformation. Well... to me anyway. I will hopefully share the before and after photos with you this week. I just need to put the furniture back into position, but for the moment I am just going to make a cup of green tea and chill. Hope you have had a wonderful weekend.

Excited

The 2011 Donna Hay Kids Magazine is out! Inspiration overload, I love it. This year it is full of four fun and colourful themed parties including old-school, circus, dress-ups and a ballet party. You can buy it online now. I haven't got my copy yet, but it is on the agenda for tomorrow. Can't wait.

Weekend Celebrations

We drove to the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula on the weekend to my parent's house for the inaugural Voigt Christmas in July party. Our entire family has never all been together in one place, so it was a pretty special weekend. There are so many of us now. We had my mother and her siblings, their children, our partners/husbands/wives etc and our children. Chaos, but fun.  When I think about Christmas what sticks in my mind the most besides being with family and loved ones is my Auntie Pam's honey biscuits. That's Christmas to me... even if it is in July. Happy Days.

Vintage Inspired Nursery

This was my daughter's nursery when she was first born... as she has grown I have added and moved things around. Actually it is constantly changing as her needs are evolving and interests grow. I am having a great time!

It also doubles up as a spare room as we only have two bedrooms. A wide angle lens for my camera would be great to capture the entire space. Perhaps I can add that to my Christmas list. Speaking of Christmas we are having a Christmas in July party this weekend. Can't wait! Happy Thursday.

J'adore... Colourful Kitchen

I am in ktichen heaven. I absolutely love these cupboards. A perfect blend of white and a major pop of colour. I was browsing on ish and chi yesterday and came across this picture and I could feel a serious celebration coming on almost instantaneously. This is one that is definitely being pinned to my inspiration board for the (one day) renovation.
