Home Sweet Home

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. We escaped to Daylesford which was so incredibly relaxing. Arrived home today and now browsing the sites for fresh new Summer interiors. I'm absolutely loving everything about Country Road's Summer Home collection. Pastels are rocking my world at the moment. I can't get enough. Just a few pieces can transform your home and freshen it up for the season ahead. Some of my favourites include the Abbi apple print, pink Art Canister and the Dante Stacking Boxes.

Flower Love

I don't know anyone who isn't appreciative of stunning fresh flowers. I adore them... I have mentioned this before, but growing up and when I left home to go to uni, my mum used to say 'even when times are tight you should always spare enough change for a beautiful bunch of fresh flowers'. Love you mum. They completely lift your home and your spirits. A florist that I love to follow on Facebook, does this visually for me every day with their gorgeous posts. The Norwood Flower Market. Every Thursday and Friday you can "Send a Little Love" and this week it is a stunning bunch of peonies beautifully wrapped. So, surprise someone you love with a fresh posy of flowers just because. It'll make their day. xx

Living Room Love

Loving everything about this living room...The sofa, large print, mirror and bedside table used as a coffee table with a little whimsical thrown in. Collating inspiration for our lounge room as I am slowly selling our furniture on gumtree and shuffling things around to make way for fresh new beginnings. Who knew decluttering was so addictive. xx

Lazy Sunday...

Well, I have not laughed so hard in years. Class of  '94 Reunion...we picked up like we left off... and laughed late into the night... hence a lazy Sunday today. My favourite. Hope you've had a wonderful weekend. xx

On the road...

This afternoon I'll be jumping in the car and driving back to my home town of Bordertown. It's my 20 year High School Reunion. The last 24 hours have been a bit of a revelation to me, you see I thought I was just going back to see my old school friends and catch up, but it seems that it is more than that for me. I'm trying to recall the last time I was 'home'... and I think it was when I was about 6 months pregnant, although I might be wrong. My memory of that time is all just a blur. That's now about 5 years ago. My brother died just over 5 years ago, and not long after that my parents moved to a house they had bought a few years earlier on the Fleurieu Peninsula to be closer to my sister-in-law and niece who were also grieving their devastating loss. A few months later the house I grew up in was up for rent and then eventually sold. So, this trip for me today will be a meaningful one, filled with memories of family, happiness, milestones, laughter and sadness. One that I need to do. xx

Why hello...

This weekend we celebrated a milestone in our house... our 4yo daughter learned to ride her bike without training wheels. As I sit here MMSing the video I took of it to our family members I thought I should take some inspiration from little miss A and "get back on the bike" so to speak and "get back on the blog".

I have been online tonight twiddling with the template as I feel it needed a bit of a refresh. It's been a while since I've delved into my creative side and I realise I've missed it. So bare with me while I make some changes on here, just know I'm having fun finding my way. xx

Living Room Love

Our 'one day renovation' is almost half way. Pics to come, I promise. I am now constantly on the lookout for interior inspiration, and this one caught my eye. Our living room up to this point has had a red theme to it, but I am wanting to mix things up a bit, and there's nothing better than a new space to work some magic. This pic from Home Beautiful mag is hitting the spot for me. That rug and sofa... yes please!! Have a great weekend.

Loving this inspiration from Simply Grove and  French by Design this week. Gorgeous interiors of blogger Kristen Grove's home, and the Melbourne house of architects Carole and Steve Whiting. I am absolutely loving black white and timber.

Stationery Love

If you follow not the big things you will know how much I love stationery, especially of the letterpress kind. I have written about Pockets of Film before and I think today is quite the occasion to do so again. I love their simple yet thoughtful cards and could've shared them all. Here are a few of my favourites. Happy Valentine's Day.

Bedroom Inspiration

Flicking through a mag while on a mini break in Middleton and I came across a picture of some quirky under bed storage options. On closer inspection I realised that the entire bedroom suite was made of cardboard... The Karton Bedroom in fact. Very cool. Made in Germany you can get the bed, bedside tables and storage drawers for under $500 which, in bedroom furniture terms, is a bargain! And that's not all they do.... there's also The Karton Office, The Karton Wall, and lots more. Not sure how practical they'd be for me at the rate I spill things, but I'm sure they've taken that into account and made them mighty tough.
