Stationery Love

If you follow not the big things you will know how much I love stationery, especially of the letterpress kind. I have written about Pockets of Film before and I think today is quite the occasion to do so again. I love their simple yet thoughtful cards and could've shared them all. Here are a few of my favourites. Happy Valentine's Day.

Stationery Love

Today I came across a new store on Etsy that I have fallen in love with. Pockets of Film based in LA. The store predominantly sells art, but the store owner started making cards (also art in my opinion) after friends mentioned how difficult it was to find a simple birthday card. I am glad, because I completely agree with the friends and absolutely love the simplicty of the designs. Sometimes you just want a simple card that just says what you feel... without the rest. The other gorgeous thing about this site is that proceeds from certain cards go to supporting a young girl who has had a heart and lung transplant. Gotta love that.

Love is in the air

It's my daughter's birthday soon and although I had great plans regarding her invitations I have left it all a bit late and so ventured to kikki.K and bought some gorgeous little ones which will be perfect. I also purchased 365, a diary to note something down everyday for a year, which I am excited about.
I absolutely LOVE this store, but what made me grin the most was the "You give me butterflies" card. It's in their Valentines Day range, but I hope they keep it on indefinitely... I think it would be better placed as an anyday card to give to a lucky someone when ever you get that magical fluttering feeling.

Lovely letter press

Oh how I love Etsy. The wonderful creativity enlightens me. Tonight they featured Printerette Press, a small business run by Catherine Polacek out of Minneapolis in the States, that makes hand made stationery from a 100 year old letter press. Her work is divine and she even custom makes. Anything from recipe cards to wedding stationery, thank you cards, envelopes and party invites. Perhaps this year it is time to ditch the usual Christmas card and include a favourite family recipe... how novel and wonderful. Something your friends could keep or frame instead of heading to the recycle.
