Bathroom love

Ahhhh. So many decisions to make shortly, and for those who know me well know that most decisions I don't take lightly.  I wish I was the 'fly by the seat of your pants' kind of gal. I am sometimes, but only that. We are getting to the pointy end of our extension plans now and I'd like to be as organised as I can be with regards to fit out, so hopefully it is a smooth process. I know I am about to learn a lot with this process. We've done renovations before, but nothing like this scale of project.
So my dilemma lies with the bathroom and kitchen. I was all set to go modern, but my classic side is starting to creep in a little. Then enter my love of all things Scandinavian. Ahhhh. At the moment I am loving reproduction tiles like those shown in the above bathroom from Jatana Interiors. Stunning teamed with white subway tiles. A few more weekends flicking through magazines to come I think. Happy days.

French Apartment

After living in a small apartment close to the city for a number of years I am always intrigued to see what other people do in similar spaces (our place was nothing like this by any stretch of the imagination).  A couple from LA, with the help of Parisian architects Flora de Gastines and Anne Geistdoerfer, have transformed this gorgeous 130m2 apartment in the Paris disctict of Saint-Germain des PrĂ©s with lots of colour. Loving the bench seat in the kitchen and that bath!

Bathroom Inspiration

To say that I am totally obsessed with bathrooms at the moment is an understatement. Our bathroom reno is so far going to plan and at the same time I am pricing things for our 'one day' extension which seems to be getting closer which is exciting.  I like lots of different bathroom and interior styles, and the hard part is picking which one to invest in. Thank goodness for the inspiration.

I absolutely love white bathrooms with timber mixed in there somewhere, whether it be the vanity or the flooring. This bathroom with parquetry flooring is gorgeous. I am a big fan of parquetry flooring.

Vintage mirrors in a modern bathroom also rock my world. I would love to do this in our bathroom, but then there is the issue of the mirrored cabinet... to have one or not. I am all for storage but I don't think you can do both... well not in the same room anyway. Decisions decisions.

Then there is the featured floor tile thrown in the mix. I do love this look (I adore the pink peonies in this pic), but I also love a modern vanity and bath. Perhaps a modern version of classic might do it.

Have a great night! As you may have gathered I have joined the Pinterest obsession. Feel free to drop by if you want. Kelly x

The White House Daylesford

This 1850s miners cottage is just too adorable for words.  Hidden behind a hedge, you can't see much from the road, but what a treasure inside. I absolutely love interior designer Lyn Gardener's style.

Wish you lived here? You can... well kind-of. It's for hire, so you can stay for a short time and just pretend.

Process has begun

Ahhh! We met with our architect last night to discuss renovation ideas, and a plan of attack. The process has begun! It is all still a little way off, but I now have lots of researching to do. SUCH FUN. There are so many stunning bathroom and laundry plans. I started a folder of ideas when we first bought our little cottage three years ago and I can't wait to start narrowing things down. Hope budgie can cope.

J'adore...

Anyone would think I am opposed to colour.  I am not at all, the opposite in fact. I do however, find myself drawn to mostly white interiors like this Danish Summer house, even though our home in the hills is not like that at all. Perhaps it is because when life is busy we dream of simplicity.... I do anyway. Enjoy.
