Harry and Me ~ Daylesford

I mentioned Friday that we went on a little trip away to Daylesford on the Australia Day long weekend. One of the highlights for me was coming across the gorgeous Harry and Me on Vincent Street which is the main shopping strip in Daylesford. I always love a new little store to soak up. They had some stunning stock beautifully displayed. The Emily Green necklace I purchased is front and centre of the top photo. They regularly post images on their facebook page and if you like what you see they can put it in the post for you. Bonus!

Daylesford

Over the Australia Day long weekend we had a fleeting visit to Melbourne and Daylesford to catch up with relatives. Three days felt like five, it was so relaxing. I absolutely love this part of the world. Full of vintage finds, amazing food and coffee, scenery and creative minds. Not to mention a few new shops since our last visit like Harry and Me. I picked up two Emily Green accessories. The girls are lovely. They gave Amelie a little flower windmill which she adores and has put in the garden. If you haven't been yet, pop in or check them out online.

Daylesford Cottage

I hope you've had a great weekend. I have been in bed sick since Friday which hasn't been much fun. I did secretly enjoy the time to myself though I have to say, sleeping and flicking through mags in between naps, and being looked after by my husband. Spring is nearly here in the Adelaide Hills and I can't wait for more sunshine.
I received an email from my mother-in-law this week of this gorgeous cottage in Daylesford that I just had to share. The inside of the building is just stunning, imagine what you could do with a blank space like that... ah the mind wanders. Holiday house maybe?... it is for sale x

Daylesford ~ Part Five

I love taking photos of anything that grabs my attention and I found a lot of that in and around Daylesford. Here are some random photos from our week long stay.

I am on the search for a letterbox to replace our tired looking one. This one made me take notice. Beautifully rustic.

Lots of yummy treats on display at a local bakery.

We paid a visit to Wild Duck Creek winery while in the region, and while sitting in the car with Little Miss A who was fast asleep, I captured this stunning blue wren in amongst the wild flowers.

On the weekend we were there my husband's Auntie and Uncle came to stay (it is their house after all), and Ian made some gorgeous pizzas for tea. This one was my favourite. Sautéed mushroom and spinach.

My pretty shoes. I couldn't resist.

I have been inspired yet again by Yvonne from Yvestown and while Little Miss A has her nap this afternoon I am making over my TV cabinet. I'll share with you soon. Better get on to my second coat before she wakes. See ya!

Daylesford ~ Part Four

I wanted to share with you the amazing interior of the house we stayed in in Daylesford. Stunning. And views from every room. We were living amongst the trees which is simply breathtaking to wake up to. Exactly what you want on holidays.

Daylesford ~ Part Three

If you love beautiful gardens I recommend you visit Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm, only a short drive from Daylesford. Great too if you are travelling with a family. The kids will love the space, friendly animals and the Lavender icecream! We had a wonderful time just meandering through the gardens, getting lost in the lavender, watching geese by the water, sipping lattes at La Trattoria, admiring the gorgeous buildings, summer flowers and incredible veggie garden. Simply beautiful!

Doors of Daylesford

As you may already know I absolutely love doors that stand out! Colourful doors, old doors and especially red doors. I couldn't help but photograph these doors when travelling in and around Daylesford in Victoria.

Daylesford ~ Part Two

Let's go shopping! The shopping in Daylesford, or should I say for me mostly browsing, was wonderful with a great range of businesses to pass the time. I was in my element... so many markets to peruse, fresh produce, handicrafts, antique and eclectic furniture and bric-a-brac stores. I also just loved wandering the streets and looking at the stunning old cottages and cottage gardens. My picks: Lark, Rubi Lu, Mill Markets... these were AMAZING filled with antiques, collectables and retro vintage goodies (You can also find Mill Markets in Ballarat, Geelong, Warnambool and Newcomb), Sunday markets near the old railway station, Cliffy's and Bocconcini for foodie gifts, olive oil, muesli, olives, cheeses, dips, French lemonade, chutney, jams, or for coffee, cake, breakfast, brunch or lunch. Enjoy!

Daylesford ~ Part One

We have just returned from the most amazing break in Daylesford Victoria. What a stunning part of the world. Gorgeous scenery, markets, wonderful cafes and small good stores, wineries, eclectic shops, and mineral springs. I have so much to share I don't even know where to begin, so I thought I would do it all in a number of parts. Here begins Part One.

On the way from Adelaide to Daylesford I couldn't help but stop and take a photo of the gorgeous Cobb and Co Changing station in Great Western with the Christmas wreath on the side. Simple yet stunning. When we arrived in Daylesford we discovered Cliffy's cafe down the hill from where we were staying (it came with a recommendation, thanks Gill and Ian). This became a regular coffee spot. Wonderful last stop after the Sunday markets. Their lemon tart is absolutely delicious.
