French Apartment

After living in a small apartment close to the city for a number of years I am always intrigued to see what other people do in similar spaces (our place was nothing like this by any stretch of the imagination).  A couple from LA, with the help of Parisian architects Flora de Gastines and Anne Geistdoerfer, have transformed this gorgeous 130m2 apartment in the Paris disctict of Saint-Germain des Prés with lots of colour. Loving the bench seat in the kitchen and that bath!

Kitchen love

Love this look. Black kitchen cabinets with white benchtops. We did a renovation once upon a time with the opposite, black benchtops and antique-white cabinets. The white pendant makes it pop over the gorgeous timber dining table. Also, love me a wishbone chair.

Wallpapered Kitchen

Wallpapered kitchens... love or loathe? I kinda like it. It could be the pops of red and blue that I am naturally drawn to, but I think it's nice and fresh, especially surrounded by all the white. Have a great week.

Kitchen love

Ahhh, I love it when things come together. We decided a little while ago to do up our current kitchen to get us by until we knock off the lean-to and renovate out the back of our house. Well I am excited to say that the new benchtops went in yesterday, along with a new sink and taps, and I am so excited by the transformation. I will post some before and after pictures once we have tiled the splashback (that's my job this weekend and I am slightly nervous about it). While my daughter had her sleep yesterday I continued to flick through mags and add to my inspiration folder. The kitchen above was one of those picutres. I absolutely love the light shades above the benchtop. Have a wonderful weekend!

Spaces I love

Welcome to the weekend! I am getting a little excited because I can feel our 'one day' renovation getting closer, although still a while off. I am now ramping up the inspiration folder with kitchen and bathroom ideas. I love the colour combinations used in this small kitchen space. White marble and timber veneer cabinets. I also love the fact that it comes from a loft apartment in Paris which makes is sound all the more inviting. Have a great weekend! My Real Living mag arrived in the post yesterday, so I am hoping for a quiet moment to have a cup of tea and ponder the pages.
