Quick hello

I have had a sick little munchkin this week and so haven't achieved a lot... blog posts included, so this is a quick one just to say hello. I thought last night that I never shared the bunting I completed for our gorgeous friend little Lucy after mentioning I had bought the material a few months ago. My goodness time flies. It's June tomorrow! Enjoy the rest of your week. I have a Social Media course today. Should be fun.

Inspiring rooms for little girls

I am in the process of turning my little girls's bedroom into a not so little girl's bedroom. Well, she is still a little girl, 2 and three months, but she is ready for a big girl's bed now. Time to pack up the cot and put it in storage until a one day, maybe not child number two comes along. Change table no longer needed and some clever toy storage is about to have a makeover. There is so much inspiration out there. I have shared some of my favourites. I love the bright whites with pops of raspberry and hot pink, red linen upholstered bed heads, chalkboard table tops and wrought iron beds.

Sweet little things

I just adore small gestures, kind words, a smile...  and I just had to share with you a sweet little gift I received on the weekend from a dear friend. A packet of double poppy seeds gracing a big pink bow. So thoughtful.

The Hills ~ 3 things I like about you

1. Vintage sunrise
2. Piccadilly views
3. Stirling main street in Autumn
If you haven't been to Stirling or the Hills in Autumn now is the time to visit. The colours are just incredible, and it is such a gorgeous place to be. Something to do this weekend perhaps. Have a great one.

Change of Art

Isn't is incredible how changing one piece of art can lift your entire mood. With winter almost upon us I was feeling like our lounge room was a little dark, and it was stemming from the mantle, so I swapped my beloved Amelie poster with a (hand-made) bright green print and it has made all the difference.

I painted this print when working on Discover, a travel and lifestyle show for Channel 7. We filmed a segment with Sarah and Jodie at Unchain My Art. Their business is about getting a group of friends together and painting until your heart's content, along with food and bubbles. It was so much fun.

Wallpapered Kitchen

Wallpapered kitchens... love or loathe? I kinda like it. It could be the pops of red and blue that I am naturally drawn to, but I think it's nice and fresh, especially surrounded by all the white. Have a great week.

Thea & Sami

I can't believe it has taken me a few months to checkout a website recommended in the January edition of Home Beautiful. Thea & Sami is now my new favourite fabric store. I haven't been able to stop looking at the website. Textile designer Thea Samios' designs are just gorgeous, printed on beautiful natural linen and cottons. They are of lots of pretty things... flowers, cottage gardens, butterflies, peacocks, and made into cushions, tea towels, lampshades, napkins, armchairs or by the metre. I wish I had the budget to buy metres of this fabric. I would absolutely love to put linen curtains up in my lounge room. For the moment though I am going to settle for a metre of Cottage Garden red or maybe crème to cover the lid of my daughter's toy box... and perhaps a Butterflies tea towel to make into a cushion. Hmmm hard to stop there though. Where's my willpower?...

Friday finds

Cold day up in the Adelaide Hills today. I have the fire on and am now pondering over pictures of interiors and gardens I love from my Real Living, Home Beautiful and Inside Out magazines. The picture is a collection of some of my favourites.
