Kitchen love

Ahhh, I love it when things come together. We decided a little while ago to do up our current kitchen to get us by until we knock off the lean-to and renovate out the back of our house. Well I am excited to say that the new benchtops went in yesterday, along with a new sink and taps, and I am so excited by the transformation. I will post some before and after pictures once we have tiled the splashback (that's my job this weekend and I am slightly nervous about it). While my daughter had her sleep yesterday I continued to flick through mags and add to my inspiration folder. The kitchen above was one of those picutres. I absolutely love the light shades above the benchtop. Have a wonderful weekend!

Road Sign... No. 8

This is a popular road sign where we live, the Koala road sign. One of my favourite things to do with my daughter on the way to her Grandma's is to spot Koalas in the gum trees. There is a little area near Upper Sturt on the way to Blackwood where a sighting is almost guaranteed. The only trouble is the roads are very windy and not for the faint hearted (or those who get car sickness). Mind you the views are spectacular.

Country Style Covers

I always get so inspired by the covers of Country Style Magazine. Looking on their Facebook page today at their collection over the past year and I picked my favourites. I seem to be drawn to the pinks with raw timbers. I always thought I was a red girl. Perhaps times are a changing, or maybe I have loved it all along (my bedroom was painted pink as a child - my choice). Having fun tonight cutting out my favourite pictures from all my house magazines for my scrap book. Such fun.

Winter wardrobe

With not a lot of cash to splash at the moment, I am putting a lot of thought into my winter wardrobe purchases this year. I never usually take staple purchases lightly, but this year I am taking it to another level. If participating in Fashion Fasting last year taught me anything it was to make conscious purchases. Like eating too, although I am yet to master that one, especially if I go grocery shopping on an empty stomach.
My favourite picks are.... (yes drum roll please)...

Jigsaw Jacket

Witchery jean

Joanne Mercer boot

By doing some savvy shopping I was able to save $230 on boots (Had heart set on a $500 Midas pair, but found almost the exact same looking boot at Joanne Mercer). It has taken me two years to find a black flat knee high boot that I like to replace my old trusty (2004) Witchery boots. Good things come to those who wait. Wardrobe sorted!

Adelaide Secrets

I love living in Adelaide. We have so many gorgeous little shops, cafes and stunning restaurants that I wish I had more time and spare cash to frequent. In my travels, including a recent trip to Sydney I was craving local knowledge of where to go, quirky cafes or stores that are one of a kind, and what is best to perhaps leave for another time. I have been thinking that there must be like-minded people who think the same when visiting Adelaide, so I thought I would start Adelaide Secrets. Sharing what I love about this gorgeous city and hopefully introducing you to a fun new experience when you are next in town. Enjoy!

Littlest Vintage
91 Glen Osmond Road Eastwood SA

I spotted this gorgeous vintage store out the corner of my eye when travelling into work on the bus one morning. I finally had a chance to visit last week and it did not disappoint. Stunning kitchen buffet, lots of suitcases, boots, guitars, vintage dresses, typewriters, canisters and jewellery. If you are into all things vintage you will be delighted by this quaint little store. Check them out on Facebook.

Road Sign... No. 7

A little while ago while on holiday in Victoria I started noticing all of the different yellow road signs we have in Australia. I have to point out that yes we were on a very long road trip, so I was staring at them for some time. I started seeing lots I hadn't seen before, and then I became fascinated by them and all of the little differences in what seemed like the same picture. 'No life' is probably what you are thinking ha ha... I know slightly strange. I thought I would start photographing them to feed my new obsession. So here is Australian Road Sign No. 7. A lady on a horse. I love it how the back drop is always the gum tee. Very Australian indeed.

Blogger inspiration

Always love anything that Kirsten Grove from Simply Grove posts about. Tee-pee and Lavender cupboard included. I feel like painting something now.
